Hair loss has become a major problem in today’s world. Almost two to three of every five men or women suffer from hair loss. The main reason behind hair loss is the hair follicle-weakening enzymes in the body. Don’t be ashamed about that, it’s just normal.
Different people have tried different procedures but none of them could prevent fate’s bindings to fight hair loss. If held in earlier stages, hair loss can be prevented more efficiently by the process of hair plugs, rather than detecting it at a later age. Hair plugs or hair replacement process has become one the most significant way of getting respite from hair loss. Hair plugs as a procedure to treat baldness was discovered as early as 1930. The technical term used for hair plug or hair replacement surgery was then known as micro transplanting of hair.
Hair plug is a surgical ploy that embraces moving skin containing hair from one part of the body to the other balding parts. Generally hair from one part of the body where balding is genetically restricted is transplanted to the other part where balding has occurred. It was first in Japan where hair plugs were introduced and since then dermatologists around the world have made severe improvements in hair plugs. Hair plugs or hair follicular unit transplantation which is also known as micro transplantation has become the most sought after treatment to curb hair fall in spite of the pain and money involved.
Hair plugs are only possible if the thinning areas of the hair are replaced by follicles of the other active hair parts where the hair is properly nourished. Therefore people who are completely bald have no chance of getting their hair back by hair plugs due to unavailability of the nourished hair areas. The hair replacement surgery or hair plugs suits best for people who have permanent bald spots but with a growing bit of hair in some areas. The hair follicle groups that are transplanted from one part to the other part are generally known as hair plugs. The number of hair plugs generally gives the extent of the transplantation. With the help of a circular blade known as trephine, a thin circular part of the skin containing healthy nourished hair is cut out from one part of the head. This small portion of the skin is called the hair plug and it is then grafted into the thin hair containing part or bald areas. The grafts may contain up to five hundred or six hundreds of hair plugs from one donor area (location of the nourished healthy hair).
For the implantation of hair plugs to complete so that a natural look is achieved, it generally takes a series of surgeries. Normally after the hair plugs are done, the patient need not take rest over long periods of time unlike other surgeries. There are some minimal problems like headaches and pain which can be cured with the help of medicines once after the completion of the hair plugs.
Hair plugs, also called mini grafts, really works wonders for people who are suffering from hair loss. At least people who are tired of bald jokes, hair plugs are the best possible ploy to maneuver the change.
